Abstract (English):
The article is devoted to the study of the concept and essence of the prevention of offenses committed by employees of bodies and institutions of the penal system (using the example of the practice of the Republic of Belarus). The relevance of the topic under consideration is determined by the need to build a coherent policy of countering crime, including penitentiary crime in conditions of complete or partial isolation of a person from society. Based on the generalization of statistical data obtained from the Penitentiary Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, a system of crime prevention measures has been developed in relation to a special entity in the penal system. The information obtained can be used as a basis for preventive measures.
