Abstract (English):
On the basis of official statistical data on the registration of crimes committed by women in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the description of trends in female crime and the reasons for its spread, the article considers the problem of the achievability of a corrective effect in relation to the analyzed contingent. The main idea of the article is the need to consolidate the negative personality traits of a convicted woman who caused the commission of a crime as the main object of correctional influence. As a result of the conducted research, the author comes to the conclusions according to which there is a need to introduce fundamentally new approaches to correcting women serving sentences in the form of imprisonment into the Kazakh penitentiary practice.
