THEORETICAL AND APPLIED PROBLEMS RELATED TO ACHIEVING THE GOAL OF CRIMINAL PUNISHMENT IN THE FORM OF CORRECTION
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The article is devoted to the consideration of problems related to the possibility of achieving such a goal of criminal punishment as correction. In the course of the analysis, the definition of the category “correction” is given. An attempt has been made to determine the criteria for achieving the correction of convicts. The question of possible ways to achieve this goal of criminal punishment and the factors hindering this process is being considered. Examples of the negative impact of these circumstances on the correction of convicts are given, which ultimately leads to the ineffectiveness of achieving the stated goal of criminal punishment. The justification is given that the correction of a convicted person is a moral and legal category that takes into account the socio-adaptive capabilities of a particular person.
