Abstract (English):
In the article the author deals with the problem of participation of public organizations in the correction process of convicts sentenced to life imprisonment, carries out comparative analysis of the legal confirmation of social influence as the main means of convicts’ correction which can be applied to any type of criminal punishment, and emphasizes the specifics of its application to prisoners serving a sentence of life imprisonment.Based on the results of the survey conducted by H. T. Madaev, it is concluded that public influence as a correction means of this category of convicts is implemented in a reduced form, although it has good prospects for wider application.
