Abstract (English):
The article deals with the experience of legal regulation and application of the Institute of parole in various countries (USA, Canada, China, Italy, etc.). Particular attention is paid to a number of issues: after-care duties imposed on the released person; terms for parole; control over the behavior of the person during the unserved part of the sentence; the procedure for making a decision on probation. It is concluded that the experience of the Institute of parole in different countries is relevant for the development of Vietnamese criminal law.
