The article analyzes the features of legal regulation and organization of individual educational work with persons sentenced to imprisonment with socially significant diseases. Some results of the survey of convicts held in correctional institutions and employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region, the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Amur Region, the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Vologda Region, the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Republic of Kalmykia. The author considers such forms of individual educational work as attestation, disciplinary practice, preventive registration, individual conversation, reception on personal issues, personal assignments, self-education, behavior control. At the same time, attention is focused on the need for a special approach in organizing individual educational work with this category of convicts, taking into account the presence of the disease, attitude to treatment, as well as maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
