On October 31, 2024, within the framework of the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Topical issues of the execution of criminal penalties», a meeting of the section «Execution of criminal penalties in the conditions of organization and functioning of probation in the Russian Federation» was held by the Department of Penal Enforcement Law and Organization of educational work with convicts of the Academy of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. A special feature of the scientific event was a comprehensive discussion of numerous theoretical and applied issues of improving the effectiveness of the use of punishments and the institution of probation, mainly in the context of crime prevention as a common goal of probation, the application of punishments and penal enforcement legislation.
