CONDITIONAL EXECUTION OF PENALTIES AGAINST PERSONS SENTENCED TO IMPRISONMENT

Abstract (English):
The article considers the possibility of conditional execution of penalties against persons sentenced to imprisonment. The author notes that the current penal legislation does not provide for this, although such a mechanism has significant potential to stimulate law-abiding behavior of convicts. The proposals of scientists on the introduction of conditional execution of penalties and the establishment of a probation period are being considered. It is emphasized that it is necessary to introduce appropriate amendments to the legislation in order to increase the effectiveness of the institution of disciplinary responsibility of persons sentenced to imprisonment.
